kind and helpful staff. Very well located hotel. The rooms are nice, not very well sound isolated, you hear every door closings and all neighbours coughing. Clean rooms, tiny details would need a look and update. ± daily room cleaning. Close to habrour, bus station, city center in walking distance. Rather proud prices
Came to do the inter island flights,hotel was extremely clean and well maintained.Plenty of TV channels for people of different preference on what they want to watch.Very well staffed with very nice and funny staff members.If we was to visit the Orkney islands again,we would definitely come back.Some room don't have a great view,but this wasn't an issue.
I haven’t yet stayed at the Ayre Hotel but my trip is next month from Canada. I had some questions about the room as well as needing restaurant reservations when we get there. I phoned the hotel and spoke with Ila, who cheerfully answered my room questions and booked us a table. She was professional, helpful and friendly and the Ayre is very fortunate to have her represent their customer service.
I stayed at Ayre Hotel & Apartments in Kirkwall during a work trip, and it was a great experience. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the town, and the views are stunning. The hotel itself is comfortable, well-maintained, and made for an all-around good stay. Highly recommended!
The Orcadian is located inside the Ayre Hotel and Apartments. The chicken satay was good as was the grazing plate and soup. Staff were very attentive and service was very good. Decor was nice. Recommend this place.

Had a 3 night stay here recently and cannot find fault with anything whatsoever. Wonderful location for starters with free car parking. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the room with a seaview was clean and spacious. Breakfast is a buffet style option with quality produce with the black pudding being an absolute standout. Did not eat in the restaurant but did use the attached bar area which is surprisingly perhaps reasonably priced. Would not hesitate for a moment to recommend .
